Conceptual Design Enhancements

Improved User Interface

Performance and Interoperability
– New native 64-bit support enhances the software’s ability to handle large projects and improve performance and stability for memory-intensive tasks such as rendering, printing, model upgrading and file importing and exporting.
– Expanded API (application programming interface) support.
– Export to AutoCAD® Civil 3D® software and import from Autodesk® Inventor® , while preserving parametric data.
– gbXML (green building XML) improvements allow users to help streamline the

  1. Thanks for the post. How would you say Revit ranks in comparison to 3D Max for 3D architectural renderings?

  2. Well it’s not the same thing. Mental ray for Revit is like a overly-simplified version of itself. There’s only so much you can do and thus only so far you can take it. 3ds max is still and will probably always be the best for professional architectural renderings (although if you’re in 3ds you might as well use Vray instead of mental ray).

    With that said, Revit renderings are pretty impressive themselves and help greatly with internal design presentations and design studies.
